We are pleased to announce the creation of GDR TRANS4M, an interdisciplinary research network supported by CNRS, dedicated to 4D printing technologies. By combining next-generation 2D/3D printing techniques with advanced responsive materials, this GDR aims to unite the French scientific community around this emerging field.
Objective: Advance 4D printing to industrial maturity by bringing together expertise from physics, engineering, materials science, mechanics, chemistry, biology, and the humanities and social sciences, while addressing major societal challenges such as sustainability, responsible innovation, frugality, and Safe by Design principles.
GDR TRANS4M aims to:
- Push the current boundaries of 4D printing and its applications
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange between laboratories
- Support forward-looking, creative, and applied approaches in the field of smart, adaptive, and interactive materials and systems
