A look back at the PEPR DIADEM Industry Day
Publié le
On December 12, 2025, PEPR DIADEM organized the first edition of its Industry Day at the Maison de la Chimie, bringing together manufacturers, start-ups, researchers, and institutional partners around a common goal: to promote innovation in the field of materials and accelerate research-industry collaborations. The day provided an opportunity to highlight the progress made by the DIADEM program, its training offerings, and the many synergies developed with the industrial ecosystem.

A morning dedicated to the vision and challenges of the program
The morning began with a presentation by Mario Maglione and Lucie Bard on the PEPR DIADEM program, its objectives, and its training offerings. Katia Cargnelli Barral from the General Secretariat for Investment then provided essential insight into the challenges facing Priority Research Programs and Equipment (PEPR) and expectations in terms of impact.
These presentations served as a reminder of the structuring role of the DIADEM PEPR in the French research landscape and its ambition to contribute to industrial competitiveness through emerging materials.

Focus on the DIADEM Discovery Hub platforms
A highlight of the morning was the presentation of the DIADEM Discovery Hub platforms, illustrating the wealth of technological and scientific capabilities mobilized by the program:
- Nanomaterials – Yann Leconte
- Polymers – Sébastien Prévost
- Metallurgy – Sébastien Allain
- Additive manufacturing – Fernando Lomello
- Surface engineering – Frédéric Schuster
- MOFs – Georges Mouchaham
- High-throughput characterization using large instruments (SOLEIL and ESRF synchrotrons) – Jean-Pascal Rueff and Joël Eymery
- High-throughput characterization – Electron microscopy – Zineb Saghi
- Digital tools and DIAMOND infrastructure – François Willaime
These presentations highlighted the potential of platforms to support manufacturers in their R&D and technology transfer projects.

Concrete collaborations with industry and start-ups
The afternoon was devoted to concrete feedback, illustrating the collaborative dynamic of the PEPR DIADEM.
Several collaborations with manufacturers in the context of winning projects in the DIADEM 2023 Call for Projects were presented, including:
- OPTISCRAPS – Sébastien Allain, with ArcelorMittal (Frédéric Bonnet)
- GRENAT – Vincent Rat, with Safran (Céline Ruelle) and Oerlikon (Olivier Messe)

Innovative partnerships with start-ups were also highlighted:
- AMETHYST – Sébastien Prévost, with ISOJET Équipements (Habib Rebergue)
- FastNano – Simon Delacroix, with Aionobios (Jérémie-Luc Sanchez)
- REALCAT – Sébastien Paul, with Entalpic (Alexandre Duval)
- DIADEM-2D – Paul Foulquier, with AZ-CONCEPT (Éric Monsifrot)
- Synboli – Mathieu Pucheault
These examples have demonstrated the program’s ability to build effective bridges between academic research, industry, and entrepreneurship.

A collective dynamic serving the materials of tomorrow
This Industry Day confirmed the wealth of synergies between PEPR DIADEM and the industrial ecosystem, as well as the importance of these exchanges in accelerating innovation and transfer to the private sector.
PEPR DIADEM would like to thank all the speakers, partners, and participants for their commitment and the quality of the discussions.
See you in 2026 to continue building the future of emerging materials together.
