The PEPR DIADEM is contributing to a special issue of Advanced Engineering Materials devoted to the digitization of materials

Publié le

This special issue explores advances in the digital representation of materials and their adoption in academic and industrial settings. In a context where advanced materials are essential for addressing major societal challenges, digitization and data utilization are key drivers for accelerating their design, development, and deployment.

Edited by eight scientists, this issue features several members of the PEPR DIADEM governing body, including Lucie Bard and Fernando Lomello, program leads, as well as Mario Maglione and Frédéric Schuster, program co-directors. Their contributions highlight DIADEM’s direct involvement in the discussions and advancements surrounding the digitization of materials. In particular, this issue highlights the need to reliably exchange and reuse materials data across disciplines, organizations, and fields of knowledge in order to fully harness the potential of digitization in materials science and engineering.
